Letter to the editor

You are up in the morning opening your prescription bottle and your pills look different than they have in the past. What do you do? Do you trust that your pharmacy has given you the correct medicine or do you call them? As your local pharmacist I would like to encourage you to call me. We have recently made a change in one of our primary vendors and we have had several instances where manufacturers have changed and therefore a change in appearance occurs in the medication. We have had several calls from people asking why their medicine looks different and in most cases I sensed that the caller was somewhat uncomfortable asking me in essence had we made a mistake? I just wanted to take the time to reassure everyone that they absolutely should call and there is not a reason to feel uncomfortable. The purpose of this letter is to reassure people that we are very accurate, but not perfect, and that anytime you have any question about your medicine just call me!
